Learning from Corinthians

(Study of the book of

1 Corinthians)

 

We are studying the book of 1 Corinthians on Wednesdays.  The Corinthian congregation having come out of paganism and living in a predominantly pagan culture faced unique, and at the same time very similar, challenges and temptation to our own. As the Apostle Paul shares inspired instructions to the Corinthians we learn valuable insights into God's directions on how we need to deal with many, modern day problems.  As well, we see the pattern of how God intends that we should structure and operate His Church today.

Our church family is now 64 plus years old  and counting with us first starting back in 1952 on N. MacArthur just north of NW 23rd Street.  Our current property was purchased in 1953 and in 1954 the church moved to our current location.

Our congregational motto is "Where The Welcome Never Ends" because it starts in this life and passes into eternity!   We are not a large congregation but we do have a group of loving folks who cherish our current church family and are always thrilled to see "new" family members added to the fold!  So if you are looking for a new church home or possibly just moving to the northwest side of Oklahoma City, we would love to have you be part of the family at the NW 50th Street Church of Christ.  6035 NW 50th Street, Warr Acres, OK 73122.  (Map)

January 1st, 2017 we began following the study booklet One Word in our AM assemblies. Each week there is a different word found in the scriptures that will be the focus of our study. Each member will receive his/her own copy of the study booklet that will contain five weekly devotionals that follow along with that "One Word" weekly study.  Fifty Two Weeks---Fifty Two Words all pointing us back to the greatest book and message of all time - God's Word.
